The game wasn’t that exciting as it was a very low-scoring and defensive-minded game. The final score was 90-85 in favor of Orlando. Riding a current eight-game losing streak, the Thunder didn’t make things better as they lost their ninth straight game. This is the Thunder VS. Magic recap.
Isaiah Roby Performance
Roby had very nice all-around game, going for 11 points, ten boards, three dimes, three steals, two blocks and just two turnovers on 4/10 from the field, 1/4 from three and 2/2 from the line. For some weird reason, Roby had been playing minutes in the teens over the last four games (one included a nine-minute game) after he was dominating for four straight games. Olivier Sarr had been starting over him for some reason but now it was Roby’s turn to get back in the starter’s unit. He did not disappoint at all, and it’s usually been that way whenever he’s given the minutes. Hopefully he can continue getting minutes as a starter for the rest of the season because he’s been spectacular when given ample minutes.
Darius Bazley Performance
Bazley performed well this time but had a lack of peripheral stats in this one. He finished with 18 points, one board, one steal and one turnover. He shot a nice 6/11 from the field, 2/6 from three and 4/7 from the line. Again, the free-throw shooting is an issue, but he shot the ball efficiently at least. Over the last two weeks, Bazley has been averaging some nice numbers. He has been averaging 19.3 points, five boards, 1.6 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.3 blocks, and 1.7 turnovers on 53% from the field and 64% from the line. He’s finally learning how to score the ball at an efficient rate, averaging a career high 42% from the field for this season. Hopefully he can continue this for the rest of the season.
Theo Maledon Performance
Maledon stuffed the stat sheet in this one. He put up a nice ten points, five boards, five dimes, one steal, two swats, and an unfortunate five turnovers. He shot just 3/10 from the field, 1/5 from three and 3/5 from the line. The percentages and turnovers weren’t great but the good news is that he stuffed the stat-sheet. Maledon has been averaging seven points, 4.9 boards, 3.6 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.4 blocks, 2.1 turnovers and 0.9 threes over the last two weeks. It isn’t the greatest two week stretch but at least he’s playing more. Expect Maledon to continue getting more minutes the rest of the season.
Lindy Waters III Performance
Waters is actually a nice prospect for this club and he’s looking like a nice little project. He put up 12 points, six boards, one assist, one steal and no turnovers. He shot 4/7 from the field and 4/6 from three. He looks like he has a knack for putting nice peripheral stats, especially stealing the ball (he’s averaging 1.4 steals over the last two weeks). He’s averaging 8.7 points, 2.1 threes, 3.6 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.3 blocks, and just 0.3 turnovers on 39% from the field. The shooting is the greatest but that’s because he mostly shoots threes so it’s respectable. He looks good, so it remains to be seen if he stays beyond this season.
