This is an article about some possible NBA 2022 offseason moves. This offseason is going to be no different than previous ones. It’s going to involve some big signings and new coaches are going to be hired. It’s only a matter of who goes where. Here are some possible NBA 2022 offseason moves.
Mitchell Robinson Signs With Mavericks
The Mavs are starting Dwight Powell at center right now. Although he’s holding his own, he’s already 30 years old and he hasn’t been the greatest option at the five. Signing Robinson would solidify them with a stellar defender and lob-catcher for Luka Doncic and company. Plus, leaving New York might grant Robinson an opportunity to improve on his offensive game. Playing with a team in desperate need of a center would be very beneficial for both parties and this signing would make so much sense. Expect Dallas to be in the market for a new center during this offseason.
Russell Westbrook gets Traded
Westbrook had a mediocre season this year with the Lakers and because of that, they failed to make the play-in tournament. In fact, after the all-star break, the Lakers finished with a 6-18 record. With this in mind, Westbrook is probably going to get moved because he just didn’t fit with this team. He’s never been the best defender, his shooting is beyond streaky, his contract is horrifically high for a 33-year-old, and he turns the ball over so looking for a trade partner is going to be very hard. Expect the Lakers to look for someone because they would probably love to get Westbrook off the books. Who knows, maybe Westbrook’s time as a starter is coming to an end. A move to the bench would possibly do wonders for him and his efficiency.
Malcolm Brogdon gets Traded
Brogdon is definitely going to be moved this offseason but it’s a matter of where he goes. Ever since his Rookie of the Year campaign with Milwaukee, Brogdan just can’t seem to shake the injury bug. The most games he had played was only 64 games which was in the 2018-2019 season with Milwaukee. Now that the Pacers are in rebuild mode, Brogdan is no longer a necessity for this team as they will now turn to Tyrese Haliburton to lead them at the point. There will be no shortage of contenders looking for Brogdan’s services so who knows where he’ll go this offseason.
Julius Randle gets Traded
Randle had an underwhelming season for the Knicks. Coming off an all-star and all-NBA second team, he just didn’t seem to have that drive for a majority of this season. He still averaged hefty counting numbers (20.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.5 blocks), but he also managed to shoot some underwhelming percentages (41% from the field, 31% from three, 76% from the line). After being ruled out for the season with about six games left to go, Obi Toppin got the call to show the team what they’ve been missing out on. Toppin showed every Knick fan what they’ve been waiting for and what Thibs had been missing out on. Due to Toppin’s stellar play and Randle’s attitude on and off the court, it may be the end of Randle’s time in New York.
