The New Orleans Pelicans are getting in on the trade frenzy ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline at 3:00pm ET on Thursday. New Orleans is sending Devonte’ Graham and four second round picks to the Spurs in return for Richardson.
Underdog NBA’s Twitter account reported the news on Thursday.
Richardson was drafted with the 40th overall pick in the second round by the Miami Heat. He played with Miami from 2015-2019 before moving around to the 76ers, Mavericks, Celtics and, finally, the San Antonio Spurs.
He’s played 21 games with the Spurs, averaging 11.4 points , 2.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game this season. Richardson has only managed to start just seven games. However, he started none of his 44 games in Boston last season.
