The NBA Draft is on Thursday, which means trades for picks and players are officially under way. The Memphis Grizzlies have moved into the top 10, trading multiple picks and players with the New Orleans Pelicans.
NBA insider Brett Siegel tweeted out the trade details on Monday afternoon. There is a typo in the tweet, as the Pelicans will receive the 17th pick, not the 10th.

The Pelicans are moving out of the top 10 but will still try to find some talent in the top 20 to pair with Zion Williamson. Even though they are trading away long-time Thunder mainstay Steven Adams, the team is not sacrificing height, grabbing veteran Jonas Valanciunas.
Memphis is giving up two picks in this draft, as they add Adams and pure-shooter Eric Bledsoe to the roster to pair with Ja Morant, who is more of a slasher. They also gain a second round pick this year and a first round selection next year, which will be dependent on Chicago’s and the Lakers’ draft positions.
This large and complicated trade seems to look toward each team’s immediate future either through players, picks or both simultaneously. Stay tuned to The Game Haus for more breaking news regarding the 2021 NBA Draft.

No offense but how do you let this get published? The Grizzlies HAD the 17th pick, they traded it to get the 10th. There is not a typo in that tweet.
The article’s details are wrong. The Grizzlies GOT the number 10 pick not the other way around.
Its not a typo. You’ve got it backwards. Memphis moved up 7 spots in the draft.
