The lottery is over and the order of the first two rounds of the 2024 MLB Draft is set. After the first six picks are awarded via lottery, the remaining first round picks are doled out via a combination of criteria, including winning percentage and revenue sharing.
The order of the following 19 rounds of the MLB Draft is decided by winning percentage and the team’s postseason finish, if applicable. Also in the mix are Prospect Promotion Incentive Picks, Compensatory Picks and Competitive Balance Picks. More information about these kinds of picks can be found on the MLB’s official glossary.
TGH will be publishing articles for each team, laying out what picks they have in the first two rounds. From the second round onward, the team will continue to pick in that position in each round for the rest of the draft. No trades can be made. The only tradeable picks in the MLB Draft are Competitive Balance Picks, so the order is not subject to change outside of those selections.
