It’s been a wild year for standard players. Throne of Eldraine pushed the limits of how strong a standard set could be. Ikoria introduced Companions, a card type that was immediately reworked to be less oppressive. And of course, there was everyone’s favorite titan Uro – a card so good, it was actually suboptimal to not play it. Players feel like standard is stale and a bit boring. Magic players are looking for something to revitalize the format and bring some life back into the game. The players want something that always delivers.
Wizards knows exactly what to do. It’s time to bring back old reliable. It’s time, for Innistrad.
Innistrad: Crimson Vow
Coming this September, Magic the Gathering will make a third trip to one of the most beloved settings in the game. Innistrad as a plane is a fan-favorite thanks to it’s incredible atmosphere and it’s knack for creating amazing gameplay. Shortly after the release of Midnight Hunt, Magic players will get a chance to check more of the Innistrad story with Crimson Vow. The Crimson Vow release date is set for November 19.

After a set focused around the werewolves, it appears like the vampires of Innistrad will get their turn as well. Players are sure to see familiar faces like Sorin Markov and Olivia Voldaren make an appearance after the events of Shadows over Innistrad and Eldritch Moon. There are still a few families in Innistrad that haven’t been explored in standard sets, and players just may get the chance to learn more about the vampires of Innistrad.
