With all the teams decided for the main event of MSI, it’s time for the real competition to begin. With some of the best teams around the world ready to face off, every player will be looking to stand out. But which players should the fans keep an eye on from the start? Let’s take a look at three players to keep an eye on as the main event of MSI begins.

Luka “Perkz” Perković (G2 Esports)

While Perkz has already proven himself as an ADC in his first split playing the role in the LEC, MSI will be a huge test of just how good he is. With some of the best ADCs each region has to offer in attendance, it can be argued that Perkz may be one of the weaker ADCs in the main event.

However, one key area that Perkz has an advantage over the other ADCs in is their flexible champion pool. While the other ADCs have usually stuck with ADC champions, Perkz has been able to flex onto mages as well. This could be a huge difference maker and what allows Perkz to not only hold his own but perhaps even outperform the other ADCs. In the long run, if G2 wants to have a solid showing at MSI, Perkz will need to play a huge role in doing so.

Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in (Team Liquid)

Coming into the tournament, many analysts and fans considered CoreJJ the best support in attendance. While that would already be quite a lot of pressure to perform for most players, CoreJJ will also be under the watchful eye of the Team Liquid fanbase.

With a lot of expectations on Team Liquid to have a strong showing, most fans will be looking to CoreJJ to be the difference maker. If CoreJJ can maintain his amazing level of play, Liquid should have an easy time making the playoffs over the Flash Wolves. With the risk of missing playoffs once again, there will be a lot at stake for Team Liquid and CoreJJ, will they be able to accomplish their goal? Or will they go back to North America empty-handed yet again?

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok (SK Telecom T1)

The Demon King, Faker, has returned to the international stage. Since his last appearance, a lot has changed. No longer is he the favorite due to his region. No longer is he even considered the best player in the world.

If Faker wants to fix these wrongs, winning MSI will be a huge step in returning things to how they once were. While he has an amazing, talent-filled roster backing him up, all eyes will be on him to lead the team to victory. Will Faker be able to bring SK Telecom T1 and Korea back to its former glory and claim the throne once again? Or will Faker fall short and allow likes of Invictus Gaming and G2 Esports to keep the king off his throne? The answer will reveal itself soon enough.
