The page has turned to the 2023 season and fans everywhere are excited to see what their teams are doing for the Spring Split. This is the first Power Ranking of the new year and while teams prepare, analysts discuss their teams at length. Like all Power Rankings, these will instantly be wrong upon being published. But that is okay because pieces like these are fun thought experiments as everyone waits for the season to begin. So, without further adieu, here are the LCS 2023 Spring Split Power Rankings, heading into Week 5.

10. Dignitas (Last Week: 10)
Not much else to say but this team is a disaster. Even with good talent, they just are not meshing at all. Changes must be made.
9. IMT (Last Week: 8)
Immortals had to play the top three teams this week and did exactly what was expected. They averaged less than four kills a game and it felt like they really just had no chance. This is another team that needs to look at making some changes. With Wixxi playing well in Challengers, even though the rest of the teams is struggling, it is time for him to get a shot.
8. Team Liquid (Last Week: 5)
Something is not working with this team. They are too talented and practicing too much to be struggling this much. Their mid and late game is atrocious, only Dignitas have a worse one. Their laning is great but their communication, decision making and positioning are really bad. Someone has to step up because Team Liquid are not out of it yet, but they are in a position to miss Spring Playoffs which would be almost unbelievable for a team this talented.
7. 100 Thieves (Last Week: 4)
Losing to Evil Geniuses is fine but losses to CLG and Golden Guardians are a little less excusable for a team this talented. It seemed like things were going up for 100 Thieves but the train has been derailed at this point. It will be up to Bjergsen and Doublelift to get every refocused and make just better decisions in draft and in the game. This team is much better than 4-5 but 0-3 Super Weeks are tough to come back from.
6. CLG (Last Week: 9)
Taking down TL and 100T was a massive step for CLG. They went back to doing things their way and were rewarded for it. They like to have engage, with strong teamfighting and some out-of-left field picks. This is what allows for CLG to be the team that is better than the sum of their parts. With a 2-1 week and their only loss to FlyQuest, they are right back in the thick of things for a coveted playoff spot.
5. TSM (Last Week: 6)
TSM defied all expectations this week, well mostly. They lost to Golden Guardians and took down Dignitas but then they went and gave FlyQuest their first loss. For the past few years even when FlyQuest were just average, that org has had TSM’s number. It was surely nice for TSM fans to give it back. With a 2-1 week, TSM are now firmly in the playoff race. Another important week has arrived for TSM as they will need to hold off CLG and see if they can contend by taking down another top team in Cloud9.
4. Golden Guardians (Last Week: 7)
A 3-0 and one that was quite impressive. Taking down TSM and 100 Thieves instantly moved this team up to the top four. This is the first time Golden Guardians have been this good since the core of Closer, FBI and huhi were lighting things up. Now everyone is playing well with surprise performances from River, Gori and Stixxay in particular. They have the longest winning streak in the LCS at 5 which has them at 5-4. They likely will lose at some point and it will be interesting to see if they are just a super streaky team or for real.
3. Cloud9 (Last Week: 3)
Cloud9 took care of business. They played arguably the three worst teams in the LCS right now and smashed all of them. Now as the second round-robin begins, they will look toward EG and FLY. With EMENES replacing Diplex, things may be a bit dicey for C9. Games against Golden Guardians and TSM were once thought to be easy wins but now both teams are nipping on Cloud9’s heels so EMENES will have to be ready to perform right away.
2. Evil Geniuses (Last Week: 2)
Another team that went 3-0 during Super Week and kept their status as one of the best in the LCS. Normally that may not mean all that much but it seems as though the winds are changing. EG are being challenged but they continue to find ways to weather the storm. A lot of nature references aside, Evil Geniuses are truly a good team and one that should continue to get better.
1. FlyQuest (Last Week: 1)
FlyQuest finally lost. It was a weird game against TSM where it looked like they had lost all control. Many worried that they had been exposed but then they were able to recover nicely against CLG. It will be interesting to see if Eyla comes in and helps this team. If not then it looks like Winsome may be able to help this team make their first Finals since 2020.
