Who is Professor Turo?
Professor Turo is the Pokemon Professor in Pokemon Scarlet. He is famous for his research on the terastal phenomenon in the Paldea region. He is also the Professor that helped create the tera orb that allows players to use it in battle. Professor Turo is a very different professor from previous researchers and is a very complex character whose actions are responsible for the main events of the end game.
Inspired by the Violet books’ tales, Turo was inspired to lead her own research expedition in Area Zero. Fascinated by the idea of the distant future, Turo went to work on developing a time machine so that future Pokemon could be trained to eventually co-exist with their modern-day descendants. This led him to use the special properties of the tera crystals to create a robotic duplicate of himself to serve as a research assistant when his previous one walked out on her.
Miraidon was the first ancient Pokemon he successfully brought over with his time machine, which he optimistically thought could live in harmony with him and his son, Arven. Eventually, he brought over a second Miraidon which proved more aggressive than the first. Turo died protecting the first Miraidon after it lost in a territorial struggle. Turo was absent for almost all of Arven’s life due to his premature demise. This also left his AI duplicate in charge of making sure the future Pokemon couldn’t leave Area Zero to destroy Paldea’s ecosystem.

Conclusion
Pokemon Violet’s Professor Turo is one of the most unique battles in the game. This is the first time the professor has been the main antagonist of the game, been killed by a Pokemon, and is seemingly closer to a mad scientist than a mentor figure. It is truly one of the best-explored conflicts in Pokemon to date. While his team of iron warriors and the stakes of his ultimate goals seem scary, this fight will not be hard if players come prepared. Level up to the 60s as a minimum and come prepared to counter all of these Pokemon’s weaknesses. Truly, this is one of the best fights in all of Pokemon.
