How to Access the Underground
Players will not have access to the Underground until they reach Eterna City, so near the beginning of the game. Once they get to Eterna, find the house where the Underground Man’s house is and talk to him. He will give them the Explorer’s Kit and lead them outside where the game will plop them into the Grand Underground.
In the remakes, players can choose whether to play alone or connect to the internet to play with friends. To connect with friends, players can set a link code and send it to the people they’re specifically trying to invite.
Digging
The most renowned thing that players do in the Underground is digging for materials. By using the R button, players can scan walls to find dig sites marked by sparkles. Once players click on them, they are brought to the site where they are told the number of items present. Players have the choice of using a pick hammer or a mallet.
The difference between the two tools is how much range of impact they have on the wall. The mallet will get rid of more stone than the pickaxe, but players must be careful. There is a time limit as every time players chip away at the wall, the dig site comes closer to collapsing. As the mallet breaks more walls, it eats up more time and when used haphazardly, makes it easier for players to lose out on digging up every item. Items that players can obtain are as follows:
Spheres
Red Sphere s
Blue Sphere s
Green Sphere s
Prism Sphere s
Pale Sphere s

Diglett Hunting
Next is the newest feature for Sinnoh’s Grand Underground. Throughout the Underground, they will see Diglett and Dugtrio at various points. Each of them leaves behind a certain amount of energy; players get 1 Point for Diglett and 3 points for Dugtrio.
Players share the Diglett point count across the multiplayer lobby, so when one player gets the point, all players currently playing get the point. If players leave or join while a player in the lobby has got Diglett Points, they will also get them, even if they enter late.
If players collect 40 points in one session, then they get a small bonus. For 4 minutes, everyone will have an increased chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon in the Underground, 1 in 2048 compared to 1 in 4096, and the chances of getting a Gorgeous Box to shoot up as well.
Pokemon Hideaways
One of the most pivotal parts of this Pokemon BDSP Grand Underground Breakdown, Pokemon Hideaways are BDSP’s newest additions to Sinnoh’s Underground. These special environments contain Pokemon, not on the surface, specifically rare spawns from the Platinum dex not seen until the post-game. Here is a list of all the caverns and the Pokemon in them as well as a map of the Grand Underground.

Each of these caverns can give players rare Pokemon and can serve as excellent training grounds. However, players might not always get the rare spawns they want; this can be amended by exiting and re-entering the cavern they’re in. Players will also get access to more Pokemon depending on where they are in the game. This is the list of milestones:
Get Strength
Obtain Icicle Badge
Acquire Waterfall
Earn the National Pokédex
Players will get the most Pokemon after unlocking the National Dex.
Players are better off beginning their hideaway escapades when they have access to Dusk Balls as this makes the grind for rare Pokemon exponentially easier. Players can use any pokeballs they want, but Dusk Balls and Ultra Balls will make it less of a chore. Players can also affect the rates of certain spawns by the use of certain statues in their secret bases.
Secret Bases
Players can make secret bases using the Digging Drill. When it is set up, people can visit each other’s bases. They can also move their bases at any time by using another Digging Drill purchased from one of the sellers in the Underground. There is also the ability to expand the base through various Traders, who offer spheres in exchange for standard items. These can also expand secret bases. There are two expansions players can get:
1st Expansion: 60 Red Sphere S, blue sphere S, and green sphere S and 30 Prism and Pale Sphere S’s
2nd Expansion: 40 Red Sphere L , Blue Sphere L, and Green Sphere L’s and 20 Prism and Pale Sphere L’s
The main purpose for secret bases this time around is to decorate them with the statues that affect the spawn rates of certain types of Pokemon. The more statues players have of a certain type of Pokemon, the stronger the effect is for that type. Statues can also be placed on pedestals for a prettier look and potential secondary effects. There are 3 types of statues: Standard, colored, and legendary. Players can get standard statues from pretty boxes, colored from gorgeous, and legendary from catching the Pokemon depicted in the statue from Ramanas Park. The different types of statues will be covered more in-depth in a more specific guide, so be on the lookout for that.
Conclusion
These are the basic things to know about how the Grand Underground works. As players discover more, there will be separate articles to explain each activity in a specific depth. With the knowledge from this Pokemon BDSP Grand Underground Breakdown, trainers should be able to enjoy their expeditions a lot easier.
