My Hero Ultra Rumble Momo Yaoyorozu is a rather solid pick. She provides zone control alongside defensive capabilities, making her a force to be reckoned with. Momo is a support character, but doesn’t have an instant revive like many of her counterparts. For those looking to master the pick, this guide has you covered. Here are some tips and tricks that will make you a better Momo Yaoyorozu player in no time at all in My Hero Ultra Rumble.

What is Momo Yaoyorozu’s Playstyle?
Before getting into the itty gritty details, we need to discuss Momo’s base playstyle. She’s a rather close ranged character, with her alpha ability providing fantastic damage from a relatively close range. Her kit therefore excels from close by, as she lacks far range capabilities as a whole.
Her cannon fire can provide some decent zone control from afar, but her shield alongside her club close ranged attack are definitely her strong suits. In essence, don’t rely too heavily on the long range capabilities. Instead, try to utilize her shield dash to protect teammates alongside yourself.

What are Momo Yaorozu’s Abilities?
Every character in MHUR comes with three unique abilities along with a special one, and Momo is no exception. Two of her abilities are for close range, while the other actually has unlimited range. Each ability will be explained in great detail, giving you advice on how and when to use them.
Strike and Stop
This is her main damage. It throws out small waves which have rather limited range. But the benefit of this ability is that it staggers enemies out of their close ranged attacks. For example, Uraraka’s spin to win and Bakugou’s melee ability can be interrupted with a single hit of Strike and Stop.
In addition, this is a great move to spam. Though it interrupts enemies during their abilities, it doesn’t actually stagger the enemy or knock them — therefore, you can actually hit multiple times before the enemy hits their invulnerability frame.
Unfalling Caste Wall
This is Momo’s shield. At a certain level, around 4 I believe, it becomes far bigger once placed. Pressing it just briefly sets it down immediately, while holding it down allows her to do a shield rush.
Utilize the brief press to protect allies who are looting or downed, and use the shield rush as both an offensive and defensive maneuver.
The rush is actually insane. It protects Momo from incoming projectiles in front of her, and deals phenomenal damage if she hits an enemy. But it does often lose out against other close ranged attacks. Therefore, Momo can be relatively easily knocked out of the dash, during which she’ll stagger and fall to the ground. But don’t let the animation fool you, the shield still protects Momo from damage, even if it breaks mid dash (assuming the enemy hit you from the front).
The Shield Dash goes surprisingly far, providing great maneuverability. Get used to driving Momo around while using the Shield Dash, as it’s an incredibly important mechanic to master on the support hero.
Bullet Rain
This spawns a cannon which shoots out in an arch, exploding upon impact and spawning smaller explosives. As previously mentioned, the ranged on this is actually unlimited. Bullet Rain is realistically the only far ranged ability Momo has, making it her go to move when on the high ground.
Therefore, if your allies are trying to camp out safely, just spam Bullet Rain to harass the enemy from afar.
Another thing to keep in mind is you can use Bullet Rain to practically heard the enemy. The trajectory of the cannon fire is easy to predict and avoid — but if you use well, you can essentially force the enemies to run a specific direction. From then on, you shield dash or utilize the alpha ability to cover the general vicinity the enemy is running into.
Strategically use the Bullet Rain to control the tides of the fights. The more you play Momo, the more you’ll master this mechanic — which definitely distinguishes the decent Momo players from the masters.
Ability Upgrade Priority
Upgrade Strike and Stop first at all times. Players will typically want to upgrade Unfalling Castle Wall thereafter, since the increase in shield size is pretty important. But Bullet Rain max second is relatively viable as well, especially when the team wants to play from a distance.
- Strike and Stop (α)> Unfalling Castle Wall (β) > Bullet Rain (γ)
- This is the go to upgrade for most games
- Strike and Stop (α) > Bullet Rain (γ) > Unfalling Castle Wall (β)
- This is for when the team wants to just camp and keep their distance from the main fight
