Bandai Namco recently dropped an announcement trailer for a brand new rendition of the battle royal genre. This time around it involves the cast of My Hero Academia. The My Hero Ultra Rumble announcement also includes a trailer giving gamers a first look at the game.
Back in January 2022, Bandai Namco made its first appearance with My Hero Ultra Rumble. While the West Coast wasn’t given much info in Japan gamers got to experience the open beta of the title. It wouldn’t be until Anime Expo 2022 that Bandai gives the West more information about the Anime battle royal.
The Trailer
The video showcases Teams of 3 duking it out in Battle Royal Fashion. Players will be separated into 8 teams of 3 for a total of 24 players. The trailer shows various characters from the anime using their quirks to fight for first place. Each of the characters has an assigned role. Those roles consist of assault, support, and disruption. Players will have to rely on working together and compensate for each other’s weaknesses if they want to survive till the end. The trailer confirmed 12 characters to join the roster. Those characters are as follows:
- Izuku Midoriya
- Katsuki Bakugo
- Shoto Todoroki
- Tsuyu Asui
- Ochako Uraraka
- All Might
- Cementoss
- Mt Lady
- Shigaraki
- Dabi
- Himiko Toga
- Mr. Compress
Closed Beta Testing
My Hero Ultra Rumble received its Japanese closed beta earlier in the year. This time Western players will also get a chance to try the game out for itself. The title currently has a sign-up for a closed beta testing. The closed beta testing currently is only running for Playstation 4 users. The testing is running in two phases.
Phase 1 starts on August 17 at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET, and ends on August 18 at 3:00 a.m. PT / 6:00 a.m. ET
Phase 2 starts on Aug. 18 at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET, and ends on August 21 at 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET
My Hero Ultra Rumble will release free-to-play for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The release date is currently TBA.
