The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 21 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the Madden 21 questionable ratings: New Orleans Saints.
Ryan Ramczyk– 91
Right tackle Ryan Ramczyk is possibly the most under-appreciated player in the entire NFL, as he has established himself as one of the most dominant offensive linemen in the entire league, and most definitely the best right tackle. Since entering the league in 2017, the Wisconsin product has produced two all-pro seasons at tackle, including a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2019. Most recently, Ramczyk ranked as the fifth overall tackle in the entire NFL according to his peers and was the only right tackle to make the list of the NFL’s Top 100 players completely. In 2019, he allowed no sacks in 2019 while playing all 16 games, an outstanding accomplishment. Ramczyk is undisputedly among the ten best offensive linemen in the game today, and his rating should more accurately reflect that.
Adjusted Rating- 95
Emmanuel Sanders-87
A couple of years ago Sanders would most definitely deserve an 87 overall rating, however, the veteran receiver has seen a dip in production in 2019 that warrants him to rank behind a couple of players who had a breakout year last season. Sanders’ yards per game dropped from 72.3 in 2018 to 51.1 in 2019 and averaged on 14.1 yards per game in the playoffs. Players such as Kenny Golladay and DeVante Parker both produced over 300 more yards last season than Sanders, with Golladay doubling Sanders’ receiving touchdown total, yet both have overall ratings below the New Orleans wideout. Sanders remains a very good receiver in the NFL, however, his declining production should warrant a slight reduction in his rating.
Adjusted Rating- 85
Sheldon Rankins– 82
Rankins is the most underrated players on the Saints’ defense, there are very few players who impact the game more on the defensive side of the ball for New Orleans than the powerful defensive tackle. Rankins has a unique blend of size, strength and burst that proves to be a nightmare matchup for most offensive linemen. His constant drawing of double teams make him the perfect complement to the superstar that is Cam Jordan on the defensive line in run defense and is an underrated pass rusher, accumulating eight sacks in 2018, however, he did see a dip to two sacks during an injury-plagued 2019 season. Durability is a major issue for Sheldon Rankins, as he has suffered three separate lower leg injuries since entering the league in 2016, and needed another surgery in December 2019 after tearing his Achilles. However, when healthy, there are very few defensive tackles in the NFL who impact the game more than him.
Adjusted Rating- 85
