The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the Madden 20 questionable ratings: Minnesota Vikings.
Stefon Diggs- 93
Even though he was the second most productive wide receiver on the Vikings, Diggs had an excellent year. He had 102 receptions for 1,021 yards and nine touchdowns. While that is a great year, Diggs likely shouldn’t be rated as high as a 93.
Davante Adams of the Green Bay Packers had 111 catches for 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns, but was rated just a 92. While Adams should be boosted a point or two, Diggs should be rated a few points lower.
Adjusted Rating- 90
Danielle Hunter- 86
While he had a down year in 2017, Hunter bounced back to form in 2018 with 14.5 sacks. In doing so, he was one of the best pass rushers in the league. Madden decided to rank him at an 86 for this season, which doesn’t add up.
Brandon Graham had 4.0 sacks for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018, but was given an 89 rating by Madden. This makes no sense given his production. Hunter should at least be rated an 89, if not higher, to make the ratings consistent.
Adjusted Rating- 90
Xavier Rhodes- 86
Rhodes used to be an elite corner in the league, but has taken a step back recently. He still deserves better than his 86 rating in Madden 20 though. Last season, he had one interception and seven interceptions in 14 games played.
Desmond Trufant of the Falcons played similarly to Rhodes in 2018, finishing the season with no interceptions and 12 passes defended. He was given an 88 rating though, which is the rating that should also be given to Rhodes.
Adjusted Rating- 88
Kyle Rudolph- 85
Last season wasn’t Rudolph’s best, but he is still a quality tight end. He had 634 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2018 in his first year with new quarterback Kirk Cousins. Madden decided his play was good enough for an 85 rating.
Tyler Eifert and Greg Olsen have both not been able to produce a lot in the last few years because of injury, but still were given 88 and 89 ratings respectively. Rudolph has been a better tight end in the last few years and deserves a little bit higher of a rating.
Adjusted Rating- 88
