Age of Mythology Retold Multiplayer
Age of Mythology Retold will be Multiplayer.
This should not come as a major surprise consider all of the Age of Empires games have had multiplayer. They were some of the first RTS games to feature that possibility. With Mythology coming back you can bet there will be a new competitive scene filled with former players and new players alike.
Age of Mythology: Retold Release Date
The Age of Mythology Retold Release Date will be on August 27, 2024. You can play on August 20, 2024 though if you buy the premium edition.
This comes a few years after Microsoft had all of the Age of Empires games updated to some degree. With Age of Empires 4 going back to its roots, many thought that would be enough to get people playing the RTS again. But apparently Age of Empires 2 was too good and with that they made a remake of that and brought in a ton of players again.
Now the goal will be to play on nostalgia once more with Age of Mythology. A remake for a cult classic should certainly get older RTS gamers right back in.
Age of Mythology: Retold on Xbox Game Pass?
Yes, Age of Mythology Retold will be on Xbox Game Pass on Day One.
This should not come as a surprise whatsoever. Mainly due to the fact that all of the other Age of Empires games are on Game Pass. Also, this game is made by Microsoft so it will likely remain on Game Pass for as long as Game Pass exists.
Age of Mythology: Retold Gameplay
The Age of Mythology Retold gameplay is a bit different than Age of Empires.
While you will still gather resources and fight with certain units. A lot of these units are based on mythical creatures and the gods of different myths. This includes the Greek, Egyptian and Norse gods of old. They all do many different actions and make it feel as if you are playing in a sandbox with the gods. This should add an interesting twist to RTS games and may bring in a lot of players once more.
They will also be adding the new Chinese pantheon and some new gods which should keep things interesting and fresh as well.
