Coleman spent the first four years of his career with Atlanta splitting carries with Devonta Freeman. Now, he will rejoin his former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco.
He has rushed for 2,340 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career to go along with 1,010 receiving yards.
The 49ers will have Coleman in the backfield with Jerrick McKinnon and Matt Breida who all can run and catch.
