Fortnite 19.01 Patch Notes

It’s a new year and Epic Games has already pushed out a new Fortnite update. The Fortnite 19.01 patch for January 4 is now live, bringing along some new loot and potential map changes. Here is a look at the Fortnite 19.01 Patch Notes.

Server Issues 

Within the month of December, Epic Games were having issues with their servers resulting in players having trouble logging into the game or even coming across matchmaking issues making the game unplayable. 

Epic previously made an announcement stating to make up for the lost time when the servers were down, players will be given the Madcap’s pickaxe, Crescent Shroom, for free. The only way to receive the free pickaxe is to log in while Fortnite’s Winter Event is still active.

In addition to getting the pickaxe A power leveling weekend will begin on January 7, 2022, and will end on January 10 at 7 AM ET.

Shield Kegs

Shield kegs are the newest loot item to drop in the newest Fortnite patch. These kegs act as shield sprinklers showering both the player and their allies in shield even while under enemy fire. Shield kegs not only can be used for allies but enemies as well.

The kegs can be found in chests, supply drops, and can also be purchased with gold bars from NPCs Lt. John Llama and The Scientist.

Return of The IO

As Winterfest ends most of the snow covering the map will soon begin to melt away. According to well-known Fortnite leaker, HYPEX the IO Drill Outposts will begin to appear on the map after the snow starts melting. Evidence that could potentially back up this claim could be the January 2022 Fortnite Crew skin Snow Stealth Slone.
