The 2021-22 NFL season has already been extremely entertaining. Bye weeks are starting to take place. This means that wide receivers like Deebo Samuel and Calvin Ridley will be out this week. On top of that injuries have started to mount up at this point of the season. It is always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. Here are the fantasy football week 6 wide receiver rankings.
*Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to reserve/COVID-19 list*
(Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week)
Key:
Must Start- a player who is in your lineup regardless of the matchup or most circumstances. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and in most weeks.
Starting WR1- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.
High WR2- a player who may isn’t likely to carry a lineup that week, but has the ability to have a breakout game and is teetering between WR1 and WR2 category.
Starting WR2- a player who should be started in most lineups and should reach their point projection. This player is started is because of their consistency and moderately high floor
Low WR2- a player who may not be a lock to start for a team every week, but will start more times than not. Their production may not be pretty or win a person their lineup but the production is consistent enough to make a fantasy owner comfortable starting them.
Flex- a player who could float around the territory of being benched, but is started due to the potential to play better than their point projection. However, this player has the potential to flop and causes a fantasy team to lose if he has a bad game.
Deeper League Flex- a player who has starting value in deeper leagues. There are enough reasons to leave this player on the bench, but their upside makes them an attractive option. Desperate times may call for a player like this to be inserted into starting lineups.
Upside Player- a player who is boom or bust. This player can exceed expectations in a given week or could flop and be the reason why someone lost their fantasy matchup.
Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Possible Changes that can occur before Sunday
WR2 Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs:
Tyreek Hill suffered a knee injury in the lost to the Bills last week. If Hill misses the game this week against the Washington Football Team Mecole Hardman goes to WR30 between Courtland Sutton and Jaylen Waddle. The rest of the Chiefs receivers impossible to predict who would be next in line for targets.
WR24 Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is dealing with a knee and ankle injury that limited him in practice Tuesday. If he is a full participant in practice Wednesday he should be ready for Thursday night football. If Godwin is out Mike Evans takes a slight boost to WR7 between Mike Williams and Justin Jefferson. While Antonio Brown becomes the WR14 between Brandin Cooks and Keenan Allen. Tyler Johnson would become an interesting play in DFS.
New York Giants Wide Receivers: WR29 Sterling Shepard, WR42 Kenny Golladay, & WR47 Darius Slayton,
For the third week in a row, all three of the Giants’ top receivers are dealing with injuries. Now rookie Kadarius Toney is dealing with an injury too. There are so many scenarios how this will play out but the most likely is that Shepard, Toney and Slayton are active while Golladay misses this game.
WR34 Devante Parker, Miami Dolphins
Devante Parker missed last weeks game because of a shoulder injury. If Parker was to miss another week against Jacksonville Jaylen Waddle would jump to WR29 between Amari Cooper and Sterling Shepard.
WR40 Julio Jones, Tennessee Titans
Julio Jones has missed the last two games because of a hamstring issue. If he misses this week against Buffalo it is difficult to pinpoint who will be the primary benefactor after A.J. Brown. It could be Marcus Johnson or Chester Rodgers.
WR66 Sammy Watkins, Baltimore Ravens
Sammy Watkins hurt his hamstring on Monday night football against the Indianapolis Colts. If he misses this game Devin Duvernay would move up to WR68 between Demarcus Robinson and Jamal Agnew.
