The 2022-23 NFL season has already been extremely entertaining. It has shown fantasy trends that have started to develop and show what could happen the rest of the season. Already some players have proven to be fantasy relevant while some fantasy stars have been alarmingly disappointing to this point. Injuries have started to mount up this season. It is always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. Here are the Week 5 fantasy football quarterback rankings.
*Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to reserve/COVID-19 list*
(Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week)
Key:
Must Start- a player who should definitely be in your lineup that week because of the combination of matchup and talent. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and could repeat the production most weeks.
Starter- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.
Low-End Starter- a player who should be started in most lineups but can possibly bottom out and finish below average on a given week. A high ceiling play in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.
Streamer- a player who could be a perfect replacement for a starter for a week or two. Starting this player may not win you your lineup but they will make sure that your production out of that position will not lose you your matchup either. Also a viable option in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.
Deep League Streamer- a player who could fill a void at a position in a deeper league. Their ceiling may be close to average point production at the position but their floor is enough to get through the week. A reasonable player to have in your lineup in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.
Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Possible Changes that can occur before Sunday
QB11 Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos
Russell Wilson was limited in practice Tuesday with a shoulder injury. All the reports are leading to Wilson playing Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts. However, if he was to regress and not play Thursday then Brett Rypien would slot in at QB25 between Jimmy Garoppolo and Davis Mills.
QB16 Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints
Jameis Winston missed last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with a combination of back, ankle, and hip injuries. It is unclear at this point if he is going to play against the Seattle Seahawks or not. If he was to miss another game then Andy Dalton would slot in at QB21 between Geno Smith and Cooper Rush.
QB27 Daniel Jones, New York Giants
Daniel Jones suffered an ankle injury last week against the Chicago Bears. It is unlikely his backup Tyrod Tayor will be active for this game either. If Jones cannot play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, whichever quarterback the Giants bring in to start will be ranked QB32 below Baker Mayfield.
QB28 Brian Hoyer, New England Patriots
Brian Hoyer suffered a head injury early in the game against the Green Bay Packers last week. He is currently in the concussion protocol. If Hoyer cannot play this week against the Detroit Lions then Bailey Zappe would slot in at QB30 between Matt Ryan and Kenny Pickett.
