Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 15.
(Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
1. Rashaad Penny, RB, Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks did not activate Adrian Peterson for the game against the Texans. With Chris Carson already out for the season, Rashaad Penny stepped into a leading role in the backfield. He finished the game with 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 16 carries.
Penny has dealt with injuries and been stuck behind Carson on the depth chart during his young career. With the injury situation and his success against the Texans, Penny should get most of the work down the stretch. He is rostered in just 8.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Gabriel Davis, WR, Buffalo Bills
Emmanuel Sanders had to leave the game against the Bucs with a knee injury. If he has to miss time, Gabriel Davis will step into a more featured role, much like he did against Tampa Bay. He had five catches on eight targets for 43 yards and a touchdown.
It is worth monitoring Sanders’ injury situation, but Davis can be added to rosters in the meantime. He produced when given the opportunity and could earn more down the road. Currently, he is rostered in just 2.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. K.J. Osborn, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Adam Thielen went down with a high ankle sprain against the Lions and missed week 14. K.J. Osborn was inserted into the lineup in his place and produced. He finished the Thursday Night Game against the Steelers with three catches for 83 yards and a touchdown on nine targets.
When Osborn filled in after the Thielen injury against the Lions, he also had a good game with four catches for 47 yards and a touchdown. As long as Thielen is out, Osborn is worth adding and possibly starting depending on the options. He is available in nearly 75 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions
St. Brown is really coming into his own for the Lions. The rookie has shown signs of progress and is starting to develop some trust with Jared Goff. Against the Broncos, St. Brown caught eight of his 12 targets for 73 yards.
His game against the Vikings in week 13 was also a solid one, demonstrating his trend upward. he finished that game with 10 catches on 12 targets for 86 yards and a touchdown. St. Brown could be a key addition to playoff rosters. He is currently rostered in just 10.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Phillip Lindsay, RB, Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have some COVID issues going around their backfield. While both Salvon Ahmed and Myles Gaskin both could be cleared by the time that week 15 starts, Lindsay could be added just in case they don’t go.
Miami added Lindsay after he started the season off with the Texans. He may be the most talented running back in the backfield and could take over at some point the rest of the season, even if Ahmed and Gaskin don’t miss any action. Lindsay is rostered in 9.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
*Lindsay has tested positive for COVID as well. He is still worth adding in case he can play and just in case he takes over the Dolphins’ backfield by the end of the season.
