One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream in week 11. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
1. Denver Broncos
The Broncos have had a good year defensively, as they rank eighth for fantasy defenses at 7.7 points per game. In their worst performance, they scored one point against the Raiders in week 2. They have two double-digit scoring games, which includes their season-best 17-point game against San Francisco. They have six interceptions, four fumble recoveries and 25 sacks.
Denver will want to avenge their worst performance of the season this week against the Raiders. Las Vegas has scored just 13.3 points per game over their last three outings. It appears like there is even more going wrong this season than meets the eye under Josh McDaniels’ regime. The Broncos can take advantage of the Raiders’ recent run of bad play. Denver is rostered in just under 50 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati has had a decent fantasy defense this season, ranking 16th at 5.6 points per game. Their best game was a 15-point display against the Jets. They scored 0 points against the Saints for their worst game. They have eight interceptions, five fumble recoveries and 14 sacks this season.
The Bengals play the Steelers in week 11. Pittsburgh is averaging just 15.6 points per game this season. They are coming off a bye and should be ready to handle the Steelers’ offense, even as they are dealing with injuries. Cincinnati is rostered in 35.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. New York Jets
The Jets have one of the best fantasy defenses in the league, ranking fourth at 8.9 points per game. They have five double-digit scoring performances this season. New York scored -1 points against the Browns in week 2. They have 11 interceptions, three fumble recoveries and 26 sacks on the season.
In week 11, the Jets play the Patriots. The last time the two teams met, the Jets were able to score 10 fantasy points. They may be able to do even better this time, as they are coming off of a bye. The Jets are rostered in 30.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Washington Commanders
Washington has been decent on defense from a fantasy perspective, ranking 20th at 4.8 points per game. Their best performance came against the Bears when they scored 11 points. They have one negative-scoring performance, which was against the Lions in week 2. They have three interceptions, four fumble recoveries and 23 sacks on the season.
The Commanders play the Texans in week 11. They will be coming off of a short week, as they play on Monday Night Football, but the Texans score just 16.6 points per game. What makes things better is the Commanders may be welcoming Chase Young back to action after he recovered from an ACL tear. The Commanders are rostered in just 17.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have not played well defensively, ranking 31st and averaging 2.1 points per game. They scored 13 points against Denver in their best game of the season. Las Vegas has scored negative points three times and haven’t scored positive points since week 7. They have three interceptions, three fumble recoveries and 10 sacks this season.
The matchup for the Raiders is a good one in week 11, as they play the Broncos again. They will be trying to replicate their early-season performance against the Broncos. Denver scores a league-low 14.6 points per game. Only play the Raiders in desperation, but they are rostered in just 17.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
