One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 10. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
1. Chicago Bears
The Bears have had a good fantasy defense this season, ranking sixth in the league at 9.0 points per game. They have three double-digit scoring games, which were against the Titans, Panthers and Jaguars. Their one negative-scoring game was against the Washington Commanders.
Their week 10 matchup is going to be with the New England Patriots. While the Patriots have gotten a boost after starting Drake Maye, they still average just 15.7 points per game. The Bears can limit New England’s scoring and have a big day. They are rostered in just 43.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Buffalo Bills
The Bills have been a solid fantasy defense this season at 7.1 points per game, ranking them 11th. They have four double-digit scoring game, which were against the Dolphins, Jaguars, Titans and Seahawks. Buffalo had a negative scoring outing against the Baltimore Ravens in week 4.
In week 10, the Bills play the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have replaced Anthony Richardson with Joe Flacco at quarterback, but haven’t scored more than 20 points in the last four weeks. Sean McDermott continually gets more production out of his defense than expected and can do the same in this game. The Bill are rostered in 48.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. New York Giants
The Giants have had a decent fantasy defense this season, ranking 12th at 6.2 points per game. They have two double-digit scoring games, which were against the Browns and Seahawks. Their lone negative-scoring game was against the Commanders this past week.
New York plays the Carolina Panthers in week 10. Carolina is coming off of a win, but the Panthers still average just 16.3 points per game With the Giants being better defensively this season, they could force turnovers and limit the scoring in the game. They are rostered in just 4.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta has a below-average fantasy defense, ranking 25th at 3.9 points per game. Their one double-digit scoring game was against the New Orleans Saints in week 4. They have no negative-scoring games this season.
The week 10 matchup for the Falcons is with the New Orleans Saints, who they already had success against. New Orleans just fired head coach Dennis Allen, but rank middle of the pack in scoring at 23 points per game. Chris Olave just went down with an injury, which really limits them. Atlanta could have another good game and are rostered in 14.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Carolina Panthers
Carolina has been a bad fantasy defense this season, ranking 32nd at -0.6 points per game. They have no double-digit scoring games this year. The Panthers do have five negative-scoring games, which were against the Saints, Bears, Falcons Commanders and the Saints again.
This week, the Panthers play the New York Giants. New York ranks last in the league at 15.4 points per game. Carolina’s defense should be one of the last resorts to start in fantasy, but they could have some decent success with the matchup. The Panthers are rostered in less than a percent of ESPN leagues.
