Keeping up with who’s doing good in fantasy baseball is a key to success. The waiver wire is the place to add players who can help lead your team to victory. Here are some players that can contribute to fantasy league in week 13:
Scott Kingery, SS/3B/OF, Philadelphia Phillies
Scott Kingery is currently red hot for the Phillies. After a somewhat disappointing rookie season, year two is looking more like what people expected of Kingery. The 25-year-old has a line of .336/.337/.650 through 43 games played this season. He can play at multiple positions, which is always a plus in fantasy baseball. Kingery is being picked up quickly, but still has an own percentage of under 50.
Jorge Soler, OF/DH, Kansas City Royals
Jorge Soler has 21 home runs on the year to go with 53 RBIs. He is on pace for a 100-RBI season, and what is even more impressive is his near .450 OBP. Soler bats in the middle of the order, giving him a good amount of RBI opportunities. The 27-year-old has been one of the few positives for the Royals this season. Soler is owned in about 40 percent of fantasy leagues.
Ramon Laureano, OF, Oakland Athletics
Ramon Laureano has a great fantasy baseball combo for an outfielder: power and speed. He has 12 home runs accompanied by eight stolen bases so far this season. The 24-year-old will be on the road, heading to St. Louis and Los Angeles for seven games this week. Laureno has an own percentage of about 30.
Garrett Cooper, OF/1B, Miami Marlins
Garrett Cooper seems to enjoy playing in Miami as he’s batting over .300 in addition to his 12-game hitting streak as of June 20. His six home runs and 21 RBIs don’t stand out, but that’s because he’s only played in 38 games this season. The 6-foot-6 righty is taking on the Nationals and Phillies at home this week. Cooper is owned in about 15 percent of fantasy league.
Jake Bauers, 1B/OF/DH
Jake Bauers has some great matchups this week as he’ll be taking on right-handers from the Orioles and Royals. Since he hit for the cycle on June 14, he’s been on a tear at the plate. This week is a great opportunity for Bauers to gain some confidence and become a more consistent player. With the variety of positions he can be played at, he is worth a pickup this week. Bauers is owned in a little over 30 percent of fantasy leagues.
Ian Desmond, 1B/OF, Colorado Rockies
After having possibly the worst start to a season in his career, Ian Desmond has turned things around pretty quickly. A lot of leagues drafted him, then dropped him and he is now being added again. The 33-year-old has his average near .270 after sitting below .200 for a while. In addition to Desmond’s hot streak, he will be against the Giants, who he has a career line of .263/.314/.455 against. He’ll also play four home games against the Dodgers, and hitting at Coors Field is always an advantage.
Jeff McNeil, 2B/3B/OF, New York Mets
Jeff McNeil has come off the injury list ready to go. The 27-year-old has five consecutive multi-hit games, bringing his average over .340, and his OBP over .400. Just like many others on this list, McNeil can play a variety of positions, making him that much more useful. McNeil is facing the Phillies and the Braves in week 13 of the fantasy baseball season.
