In a press release this morning the NPL or National PUBG League announced what their first season would look like. With the help of OGN all events will be broadcasted from the brand new OGN Super Arena in Manhattan Beach, California. There will be a prize pool of $1M during the 2019 season.
League Structure
There will be 32 teams that participate. 16 who just qualified for the main league and 16 who were relegated to the Contenders league.
The teams to qualify were: Adapt, Cloud9, eUnited, Ghost Gaming, Lazarus Esports, Noble Esports, Oxymoron, Shoot to Kill, Simplicity, Smokin Aces, Spacestation Gaming, Team Envy, Tempo Storm, Vicious Gaming, Why Tempt Fate and Wildcard Gaming.
There will be three different Phases during the season. Phase 1 will begin Feb. 1st with matches on Fridays at 5pm PST and Saturdays at 2pm PST. The times will stay the same for Phase 2 which begins on May 3rd and Phase 3 which starts on Sept. 6th.
This league will also have relegation at the end of each stage. There will be a three-day event where the bottom six NPL teams and the top 10 Contenders teams will battle it out to see who makes is in the top league. The dates for each relegation weekend will be March 22-24, June 21-23 and Oct. 25-27.
There will also be a NPL Royale where all 32 teams will be pitted against each other for a prize pool of $80,000. These will also be a three-day event but the dates for each one have not been set yet.
Below is a breakdown of the $1M prize pool. It should be noted that $100,000 has already been rewarded to the winner of the 2019 Preseason.
