8. Roller Coaster Tycoon 2
Some may be saying if you’re putting this game on your list why not have the original and I would respond with this, 2 was immensely better. I have spent so many hours making amazing custom parks in this game. The expansions were incredible and the ability to truly make and do whatever you wanted is what makes me play this game over and over.
The strategy to making the perfect coaster is not making it too insane but, making it something you would realistically ride. My cousin Keith and I have spent many nights and mornings together trying to make epic custom parks. Here is a picture from our latest park!
While it may not look like much almost every ride in these parks is custom made. It takes us a long time and we are not people who use the money cheat or the happiness cheat. This game takes some love and a lot of hard work to survive and make those little people happy.
RCT2Â has brought me so much joy over the years. The simulation aspect is so satisfying because once you have created that fantastic ride that looks cool or the entire park that looks cool you know you’ve spent your time well.
I was not a fan of 3 because it felt like a totally different game. The graphics are what make this game so iconic to me. RCT3 was a let down in that regard. I have heard that the are coming out with Roller Coaster Tycoon World this year and from what I have seen it looks ehh at best.
This will be a game I play on and off for a very long time. It truly is one of my favorites and it was an easy choice to put it in my top 10 games of all time.
