The Florida Mayhem have made one more change to their coaching staff to prepare for the upcoming season. In a press release today, the team announced that they are adding Young-su “yeah” Jung as a coach. In addition, Mayhem tank player Sung-hoon “SNT” Kim will take on a dual coach-player role.
With a long and successful coaching history under his belt, yeah is a significant pickup for the Mayhem. He previously coached Lucky Future Zenith, leading them to two championships in Contenders China. Prior to that, he coached Lunatic-Hai and Ardeont, two teams that have produced plenty of Overwatch League talent.
SNT, formerly known as aWesomeGuy, was one of three players the Mayhem retained from their first season. According to Florida’s press release, he will remain on the active roster as a substitute; presumably, this will allow Seong-won “Swon” Yoon to become the team’s starting main tank. As a player, SNT’s history goes back to the APEX days, when he played Winston for LW Red.
SNT and yeah join Vytis “Mineral” Lasaitis, Marvin “Promise” Schröder, and Robert Yip in the Mayhem’s coaching lineup. This coaching change shortly follows Promise’s promotion from Mayhem Academy and the departure of Hyun-jin “r2der” Choi. With the beginning of the season looming, this will likely be Florida’s final preseason change.
