The Chengdu Hunters have signed Chunting “Kyo” Kong, Li “Garry” Guan and Xianyao “Yveltal” Li to their Overwatch League roster, the team announced via Tweet on Wednesday.
We heard you wanted more roster info… 🎍
Please welcome
Chunting "Kyo" Kong,
Li "Garry" Guan,
Xianyao "Yveltal" Li as our support lineup for this @overwatchleague season! With their composure, experience, and leadership, they’re hard not to love.#LetsGoHunt🐼 pic.twitter.com/1rGLX5u8BS— Chengdu Hunters (@ChengduHunters) November 29, 2018
Kyo, formerly of Team CC, is an Ana/Zenyatta player with two full years of experience under his belt. Team CC has had varied success throughout the last three seasons of Contenders, but has generally played towards the middle of the pack. Team CC is most notably the former home of ex-Shanghai Dragons player Chen “Fiveking” Zhaoyu.
Garry is a main support player who (until recently) played for Lucky Future. LF was one of China’s strongest Overwatch teams, but has struggled of late – they were relegated from the last season of Chinese Contenders, but finished Contenders Trials in second place to make it back to Contenders proper. Lucky Future’s sister team Lucky Future Zenith boasts no less than five current OWL signees on four different teams.
Yveltal is a star main support player who played for LinGan e-Sports. He is often considered one of the best, if not the best Chinese support players in the world, and was integral to Team China’s World Cup performance at BlizzCon (alongside Hangzhou Spark players Cai “Krystal” Shilong and Xu “guxue” Qiulin.)
