Call of Duty: Warzone weapon tier list ranks all the guns available to the player from best to worst based on usability. Typically, the most popular weapons vary from player to player, but with the right attachments, the assault rifle and submachine gun are two classes players will encounter the most.
There are multiple parts to a customized class: primary weapon, secondary weapon, perks, lethals and tacticals. The primary weapon slot is a player’s leading source of dealing damage. It features a range of assault rifles, submachine guns (SMGs), shotguns, light machine guns (LMGs), marksman rifles, sniper rifles, or melees (specifically the Riot Shield).
With the perk Overkill, users will be allowed to equip two primary weapons to their custom class, but with all the loot boxes and loadout drops available in Warzone, it is best to stick with one of the many secondary options. The secondary weapon slot usually serves as a back-up and could be a handgun, launcher, or melee weapon, such as a Combat Knife.
Each weapon and weapon class has gunsmith options that include a maximum of nine attachment options depending on which weapon is selected. There are five attachment slots that allow players to customize their gun to their play style and engagement type.
Here is a Warzone weapon tier list for all guns, primary and secondary, for the month of May.

Call of Duty: Warzone Weapon Tier List for All Guns
Primary Weapons
Assault Rifles
Assault Rifles are beginner-friendly weapons. Most are fully automatic with low recoil that makes for easy handling. The best ARs are the heavy hitters capable of providing serious damage at any range. They are great for all engagement types, and although the recoil is already manageable, equip a barrel and underbarrel for added control, or the Sleight of Hand perk for faster reload times.
- M4A1
- Grau 5.56
- RAM-7
- M13
- Oden
- Kilo 141
- FN Scar 17
- FR 5.56
- FAL
- AK-47
Submachine Guns
An SMG is most effective in close-quarter combat. They are fast weapons that possess high fire-rates perfect for run-and-gun player types. Compact by design, these modular SMGs are agile and allow players to move much more freely than other weapon classes. To create a well-rounded SMG class, focus on improving the fire rate, damage range, and ammo capacity to make a gun that can compete right alongside even the best assault rifles.
- MP5
- MP7
- AUG
- P90
- PP19 Bizon
- Striker 45
- Uzi
Shotguns
Shotguns have one of the slowest fire rates in Modern Warfare. Their shots fire in a spread, which makes them unpredictable at the range. This weapon class should only be used in close-quarter combat and are one of two weapon types found in the Gulag. A shotgun is most effective if a player is aimed down sights, so if possible, avoid hip firing a shotgun at all costs and aim for enemy heads.
- R9-0 Shotgun
- Model 680
- 725
- VLK Rogue
- Origin 12 Shotgun
Light Machine Guns
LMGs are fully automatic weapons with high accuracy and reliable damage. They have a slow fire and reload rate with moderate recoil that can be controlled with attachments. These weapons work best at longer ranges and deal substantial damage to killstreaks.
- PKM
- M91
- MK9 Bruen
- Holger-26
- SA87
- MG34
Marksmen Rifles
Marksmen Rifles are the middle man. They run mechanically similar to a Sniper Rifle with the movement of an AR. These semi-automatic rifles are capable of punishing enemies at any range. They have low recoil and high accuracy, making them a deadly one to two-shot kill from the chest or above.
- SKS
- Kar98k
- MK2 Carabine
- EBR-14
- Crossbow
Sniper Rifles
Sniper Rifles are most effective at long ranges. They have a low fire rate similar to a Marksmen Rifle, which means players need to make every shot count. It is best to crouch or go prone when sniping to remain hidden, and unless a player is a professional with the Sniper, the weapon should only be used for medium to long-range picks.
- AX-50
- HDR
- Dragunov
Secondary Weapons
Handguns
Following the introduction of the Akimbo perk, an Akimbo pistol for a secondary is a player’s best friend. With Akimbo, the .357 Magnum or the .50 GS is the best pistol at a player’s disposal. Otherwise, go with a fully loaded M19, X16, or Renetti.
Launchers
The only launcher that is feasible in all combat situations is the RPG-7. The other launchers are extremely difficult to control and require players to either lock onto specific targets or takes years to reload. If players wish to take aim at vehicles or kill streaks and don’t want to use the RPG-7, try the JOKR or PILA.
