Misfits Gaming have announced their Call of Duty League team, the Florida Mutineers. They will be located at the new Misfits Gaming facility in Boca Raton, Florida. The Mutineers are the eighth of twelve teams to announce their branding. Chicago, Minnesota, Paris and Seattle are the last four to do so.
They based the team off of the pirates that “ravaged ships off of the coast of Florida in the 17th-18th centuries.” The logo itself is based on the legendary sea monster that would attack the ships of pirates, for example, what is shown in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. They want to have the mindset of the Mutineers Code, “a cutthroat charter that leaves the timid and second rate behind in its wake.”
“The Florida Mutineers are all about doing things differently than the rest, and we’re proud of that” – Tom “OGRE2” Ryan
With former Hallo legend, OGRE2 leading the way as their General Manager, this team will have a lot of experience coming from a multitude of games. Misfits Gaming now own a LEC League of Legends team, the Florida Mayhem from the Overwatch League and now a Call of Duty League team. They are making sure to plant their flag in Florida as the esports organization of the Sunshine State. There are more announcements to be made in regard to the roster as the month goes on.
“We’ve got an incredibly talented roster that we’ll be sharing next month, and there’ll be more updates to follow. This is just the beginning.” – Tom “OGRE2” Ryan
