Atlanta FaZe Sweep and Improve to 4-0
The Atlanta FaZe kicked off this series at a 2-0 record, and faced the struggling Seattle Surge and the Los Angeles Thieves. In their match against the Seattle Surge, they saw themselves up 1-0 early after a dominant Hardpoint game. However, heading into the ninth round of Search and Destory, they were down 5-3. With the Seattle Surge failing to win another round, the Atlanta FaZe won three straight to win the game 6-5. The final game was Control on Garrison, and the Atlanta FaZe swept the Seattle Surge 3-0 to win the match 3-0. Atlanta FaZe’s captain Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson says he can’t choose just one player to be an MVP.
“They’re all talented. They all take turns going off,” he said. “Obviosuly the first two maps I didn’t do too good so I said Garrison Control, let me step it up for you guys really quick.”
The Atlanta FaZe weren’t done yet. Facing the sixth place Los Angeles Thieves, the Atlanta FaZe cruised to a 3-0 sweep. They were able to to take an early lead in Hardpoint, and defended against the late push by the Los Angeles Thieves to go up 1-0. The Atlanta FaZe took a commanding 2-0 lead after sweeping Search and Destroy. They also swept the Control game and won the match 3-0. The Atlanta FaZe have now swept 11 matches this season and are 12-1 in their last 13 games.

New York Subliners Separate From the Pack
The New York Subliners won their two matches in the Florida Mutineers Home Series. They are now 20 points ahead of the Dallas Empire heading into week three of Stage Four. The Subliners won both matches 3-2, and gained crucial points to stay ahead. Their first match was against the Florida Mutineers. The New York Subliners battled back and forth and the match was tied two a piece. After being down 2-1 in Search and Destroy, the Subliners won five in a row to win 6-2 and win the match 3-2. New York Subliner’s Mackenzie “Mack” Kelley attributes their ability to keep in matches to their leaders.
“I think [James “Clayster” Eubanks] and [Obad “Asim” Asim] are a big part of that,” he says. “They’re our two main vocal leaders. When we’re down in series or go through a rough stretch of maps, they’re always there to just bump it back up and make sure we’re in check.”
The New York Subliner’s second match of the series was against the Dallas Empire. The Dallas Empire took an early 2-1 game lead after winning Search and Destroy and Control. The Subliners were down early in Hardpoint on Checkmate, but fought back and tied the match 2-2 heading into game five. Following a similar pattern, the Subliners were down 3-0 and 4-2 in the final match. However, Clayster and Asim lead the charge and won four stright round to win the game 6-4 and the match 3-2. This win over the Dallas Empire was crucial to increase the gap between the two teams heading into week three. The New York Subliners are now 3-0 in Stage Four.
The New York Subliners face the London Royal Ravens on Friday, June 11 at 3:00PM ET.
The Paris Legion Win First Match of Stage Four
The Paris Legion were 0-2 heading into the Florida Mutineers Home Series and were on the hunt for their first win. They squared off against the Los Angeles Thieves and dropped the first game of Hardpoint. However, they stepped their game up and won the Search and Destory 6-3 to tie the match up at one. The Paris Legion were up 2-0 in Control, but nearly gave up the comeback. However, they held on to win Control 3-2. The Paris Legion went on to win Hardpoint on Apocalypse to win the match 3-1. The Paris Legion snapped a four-game losing streak. Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall says the Paris Legion are looking to improve their respawn games by limiting mistakes.
“I think it’s just cutting out as many mistakes as possible,” he said. “I think it’s one of our biggest problems, getting broke in too easy in certain situations. Getting four down in control and getting put on our backfoot straight away. It shouldn’t be happening so focusing on those things should help out our team a lot.”
It wasn’t all fun and games for the Paris Legion, as they dropped their second match against OpTic Chicago. They almost won the first game of Hardpoint, but OpTic Chicago pulled through to win 250-240. The Paris Legion went down 2-0 and won a game of control to try to come back in the match. However, OpTic Chicago took care of the rest in the Hardpoint and won 3-1. The Paris Legion ended this week with a record of 1-3 heading into week three.
The Paris Legion play against the Seattle Surge on Sunday, June 13 at 3:00 PM ET.
