Smith has played both running back and wide receiver during his Texas A&M career. He has 1,321 receiving yards and 373 rushing yards in his career. Last season, he had 47 receptions for 509 yards and six touchdowns.
In 2022, he was projected to be the top receiver for the Aggies. The length of the suspension has not been announced yet, but Smith did miss the SEC Media Days that he was supposed to attend.
The Aggies open up the season at home against Sam Houston State on September 3. After that, the Aggies play Appalachian State and Miami in what are projected to be tougher games. Losing Smith for those games could be crucial.
