David Shaw is stepping down as head coach of the Stanford Cardinal after 12 seasons at the school he announced early Sunday Morning.
Shaw had a 96-53 record in his 12 seasons as head coach. The highlights of his tenure include five double-digit-win seasons, but the most recent one came in 2016. With the 96 wins, he is the winningest coach in school history.
Since the start of the 2019 season, the Cardinal have won 14 total games. They last made a bowl game in 2018.
The Cardinal lost to BYU in the last week of the regular season.
