First CFP Rankings Released
The first College Football Playoff rankings have been released. Oregon, Georgia, Miami and BYU were the top four seeds and had byes in the initial rankings release.
USC to Bench Miller Moss for Jayden Maiava
USC is benching starting quarterback Miller Moss in place of UNLV transfer Jayden Maiava. Maiava passed for 3,085 yards last season for UNLV.

- Dana Holgorsen has been hired as a consultant at Nebraska.
- Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson is expected to return this season after suffering a shoulder injury.
- Texas A&M running back Le’Veon Moss is out for the season after getting injured this week.
- Nebraska quarterback Dyland Raiola is expected to play in Nebraska’s next game after suffering a back injury.
- ULM will handle assistant coach Cameron Blankenship pushing a player on the sideline internally.
