After a 3-5 start to the season, Auburn has fired head football coach Bryan Harsin. He was 9-12 after starting with the team before the 2021 season.
Georgia Linebacker Nolan Smith Out for Season With Torn Pec
Georgia linebacker Nolan Smith is out for the season with a torn pec suffered against Florida. The timetable for his return before the NFL Draft is fluid. Smith had 18 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks this season.
Florida Dismisses DL Brenton Cox From the Team
Florida defensive lineman Brenton Cox has been dismissed from the team by head coach Billy Napier. He had 35 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks on the season.
Michigan State Spartans Suspen 4 Players After Tunnel Skirmish
Michigan State has suspended four players after a video was published that showed Spartans in a scuffle with one lone Michigan player. The incident happened after Michigan State lost to Michigan this weekend. Linebacker Itayvion “Tank” Brown, defensive backs Khary Crump and Angelo Grose and defensive end Zion Young have been suspended indefinitely.
Big 12 Agrees to a New Media Deal With ESPN, FOX
The Big 12 has agreed to a six-year media rights deal with ESPN and Fox for through 2031 for about $2.3 billion.
Other News and Notes
- UConn and UMass have extended their deal to play each other through 2027.
- Minnesota wide receiver Chris Autman-Bell will return for a seventh season in 2023.
- Boston College quarterback Phil Jurkovec is out for the Eagles’ game against Duke.
