College Basketball Weekend Preview Week 4

Now, Iowa has its first major test on the season with opening Big Ten play against Purdue. Now, Keegan Murray has been one of the best players in college basketball with his versatility and scoring ability. Also, Kris Murray has emerged for Iowa off the bench adding additional rebounding and scoring. The defensive ability of Iowa will be tested especially inside against Trevion Williams and Zach Edey. Next, Jordan Bohannon will need to be at their best being a big-time three-point shooter. The biggest key for Iowa could be the defense of Joe Toussaint on Jaden Ivey throughout this game. Iowa will have their hands full against a Purdue team that is clicking on all cylinders.

Purdue is playing as good of basketball as anyone in the country. First off, they are elite on the offensive end which will look to continue against Iowa. Furthermore, the duo of Zach Edey and Trevion Williams will look to continue being dominant against Iowa. Next, Jaden Ivey will look to continue to be elite on the offensive end, with his improved jumper from the perimeter. The perimeter options of Sasha Stefanovic and Isaiah Thompson have added a three-point element even further for Purdue. The depth of Purdue has been a stabilizer and will continue to be so against Iowa.

Purdue will continue to show that they are the best team in the country against Iowa.

Shaka Smart has gotten Marquette off to a strong start in his first season and will look to continue that against Wisconsin. The improved play of Justin Lewis has been a tone-setter for Marquette with his scoring. Next, Tyler Kolek has added major shooting for Marquette and will need to be so in this game. Continued, Daryl Morsell will be a major key for Marquette defensively on the wing. The size of the front court has been very solid for Marquette with the play of Oso Ighodaro and Kur Kuath.

Wisconsin will be looking to pick up a quality win against Marquette. Therefore, Tyler Wahl will need to continue to be a force for Wisconsin on the offensive end inside. Along with, Johnny Davis shot-making will need to continue to be there for Wisconsin in this matchup. Next, Brad Davison will be the tone-setter for Wisconsin on the defensive end handling the Marquette backcourt. The consistency of the Wisconsin offense will be very important for them in this matchup.

Marquette will continue to showcase its ability to win big games against Wisconsin on the road.

Gonzaga will look to rebound in a major way with a great opportunity against Alabama. Furthermore, Drew Timme will need to get back to his dominant self inside for Gonzaga. Additionally, Chet Holmgren will continue to showcase the versatility of offensively attacking the Alabama front court. The backcourt of Gonzaga will need to show great consistency with Andrew Nembhard and Rasir Bolton. The play of Julian Strawther has been very good and will continue to emerge as a scoring threat for Gonzaga. Now, the defensive end will continue to develop for Gonzaga to take the next level as a team.

Alabama has a great opportunity to prove where they stand as a team against Gonzaga. First off, their success starts with the backcourt of Jahvon Quinerly and Jaden Shackleford with the scoring and shooting of the two. Additionally, Keon Ellis will be a dynamic two-way threat for Alabama in a matchup against Julian Strawther. Now, the front court will be vital for Alabama needing Juwan Gary to play well in this matchup. Along with, having Charles Bediako will be very important to provide size for Alabama in this game.

Gonzaga’s firepower offensively especially with their interior duo of Drew Timme and Chet Holmgren will be too much for Alabama to handle.
