Kings Guard Gaming have hired DJ Layton as their new head coach, according to Josiah Cohen of Dimer2k. Layton replaces former coach Paola Mancasola, who the team hired during the inaugural season of the NBA 2K League.
Previous Coaching Experience
Layton has experience both coaching and playing basketball. Layton coached high school varsity basketball at Faith West Academy, in Houston, Texas, and played college basketball at Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin
Along with his experience on the court, Layton also has experience playing NBA 2K. He is the General Manager for the competitive pro-am team TrustTheProcess, better known as TTP, on Playstation 4.
Moving Forward
Perhaps trusting the process is something Layton may have to do as while taking over Kings Guard. Kings Guard finished 4-10 in the 2018 season, tied for the worst record in the league alongside Warriors Gaming Squad.
Kings Guard protected worthingcolt_ and timelycook prior to the expansion draft and they hold the third overall pick in the upcoming draft. Kings Guard also have the No. 22 pick, No. 43 pick and No. 65 pick.
