Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 10. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
1. Cedric Tillman, WR, Cleveland Browns
This is the third straight week Tillman has been on this list. After catching eight passes for 81 and seven passes for 99 and two touchdowns, Tillman had another big game this week. He finished the game with six catches for 75 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers.
There is plenty of room for Tillman to keep producing in this Browns’ offense. Jameis Winston will continue to be aggressive and seems to prefer throwing to Tillman. Tillman is currently rostered in 47.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Xavier Legette, WR, Carolina Panthers
There have been plenty of changes to the Panthers’ offense over the last several weeks. One of the bright spots has been wide receiver Xavier Legette. In week 8, he had four catches for 34 yards and a touchdown. For week 9, Legette hauled in four passes for 33 yards and a touchdown against the Saints.
Carolina has traded Diontae Johnson, which has opened things up for Legette. Bryce Young seems to be connecting with him, which is good for his potential output down the stretch. He is currently rostered in 32.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Johnston has had an up-and-down season in terms of fantasy production. This past week was a good one and maybe he can parlay that into more success. In week 9, he had four catches for 118 yards and a touchdown for his best week of the season.
While it appears that Johnston may be a boom or bust prospect, he can be added to a roster. He can be started in desperation or based on the matchup. If Justin Herbert starts targeting him more regularly, he could be started more down the stretch. He is rostered in 21 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Jalen Tolbert, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Tolbert has also been on this list before. He is the no. 2 receiver in an offense that has some potential, even if the Cowboys aren’t playing great. In week 9, Tolbert had just three catches for 19 yards, but he did find the end zone.
It is a week waiver-wire week, but Tolbert can be added. His best games are likely ahead of him, especially while Brandin Cooks is out with an injury. If the Cowboys get behind in games, he could get a lot of work. He is rostered in just 22.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Isaac Guerendo, RB, San Francisco 49ers
Guerendo had to fill in at running back in week 8. Christian McCaffrey is out and Jordan Mason has left the last two games with a shoulder injury. In week 8, Guerendo took over a lot of snaps and made the most of it. He finished with 85 rushing yards, 17 receiving yards on three catches and a touchdown.
The downside of adding Guerendo is that San Francisco is coming off of their bye. McCaffrey and Mason should be able to heal more, even if they aren’t 100 percent out of the bye. Guerendo has done well with his opportunity and may have earned more runway in the future. He is rostered in just 3.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
