The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Arizona Bowl.
Toledo Rockets Draft Prospects
Quinyon Mitchell, CB
Mitchell signed with Toledo in 2020 and played sparingly before becoming a key contributor in 2021. In his career, Mitchell has totaled 123 tackles, 45 passes defended and six interceptions. For the 2023 season, Mitchell has 41 total tackles, 18 passes defended and one interception.
At 6-foot and 196 pounds, Mitchell has decent size for the position. He has shown good ball skills and instincts in his collegiate career. Mitchell has not played against the greatest competition during his college career, but he will be going to the Senior Bowl to help prove himself.
Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round Pick-3rd Round Pick
Judge Culpepper, DL
Culpepper started his collegiate career at Penn State, where he spent three seasons. He transferred to Toledo before the 2021 season. In his career, he has racked up 131 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 13.5 tackles for loss. This season he has 37 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
He has solid size for an NFL interior defensive lineman at 6-foot-4 and 293 pounds. Culpepper wasn’t immediately productive, but his big 2023 season has improved his stock. Getting nine sacks from the interior is a hard thing to do and could pique the interest of NFL teams.
Projected Draft Range: 5th Round Pick-7th Round Pick
Other Draft Prospects: LB Dallas Grant (6th-UFA)
Wyoming Cowboys Draft Prospects
Cole Godbout, DL
Godbout joined Wyoming in 2018 and redshirted. After that point, he was a big part of the defense for the Cowboys throughout his career. In his time at Wyoming, Godbout has 207 total tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. This season, he has registered 40 total tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks.
He isn’t the biggest interior defensive lineman at 6-foot-4 and 274 pounds. Godbout will need to work on adding strength to his frame to be able to hold up at the NFL level. He does have some pass rushing flashes that are worth taking a look at.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
Easton Gibbs, LB
Gibbs has been an impact player for Wyoming over the last four seasons and has really stood out in the last two. In his career, he has 358 total tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. This season, he has 106 total tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks.
At 6-foot-2 and 227 pounds, Gibbs is a little undersized for an NFL linebacker. He has shown the ability to pursue ball carriers well, but will need to add weight to help shed blocks. His coverage has improved and will need to continue to do so at the next level.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
