Worlds 2023 Orchestral Theme
The Riot Games and League of Legends music team released the new Orchestral Theme on the League of Legends YouTube channel.
The theme is generally the same every year. They spice it up with something new every year. A new rendition of the theme whether it be more orchestral, more vocal or more electronic. Regardless, it is an epic theme in terms of its desire to get everyone excited. It also plays well in the background during a lot of the broadcast of Worlds.
More on Worlds 2023
This year, Worlds will be heading back to South Korea for the first time since 2018. For how historic the country is in terms of League of Legends Esports, it is a bit surprising to see that it has taken this long to head back. This is mostly due to COVID moving things to Iceland for a bit but fans there will certainly be excited to have them back.
This year will be the first one with a very new format.
Play-In Stage
There will be two brackets that are double-elimination to give teams at least four games at Worlds. The two teams that come out on top will make it to the next stage.
Swiss Format
This is where things get very interesting. This will be the first year that 16 teams will battle it out in a Swiss-style format. Once a team is at three losses they will be eliminated or if they reach three wins they will advance. It will be a new take but one that fans are excited about.
Knockouts
This one has not changed whatsoever. Teams are in best-of-five matches until a team is crowned as the champion.
