In the Season of Malignant’s Patch 1.1.0, Diablo 4 players were upset with a few changes. One of the main aspects was players’ characters received a major power nerf, along with other complaints such as terms of monetization and predatory gaming practices. Global Community Development Director, Adam Fletcher took to Twitter to address these concerns.
What Happened At The Campfire Chat?
During the Diablo 4 Campfire Chat, Blizzard’s Diablo team admitted their mistakes and laid out their plans to revert some of the changes. This can be attributed to several Reddit posts and negative Metacritic reviews regarding the patch notes.
What’s Going To Happen To The Future of Diablo 4?
Blizzard has revealed the roadmap for its upcoming patch 1.1.1. For this patch, it’s planned for an adjusted XP gain from level 50 to 100 to make leveling less of a grind. Also, improvement will be coming to the Sorcerer and Barbarian classes. Along with this the way that dungeons function will also be changed taking away the grind aspect that was added.
What Did The Diablo 4 Dev Team Promise?
During the Campfire Chat, Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora stated, “We don’t plan on doing a patch like this ever again. We hear you loud and clear.” In addition, he also stated “We know that reducing player power is never a good experience… Sometimes we just don’t get it quite right.”
