Miami Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has not been cleared from concussion protocol and is out for the Wild Card Round game against the Buffalo Bills according to head coach Mike McDaniel.
Tagovailoa has been in the concussion protocol twice this season. Once was after leaving the game against the Bengals in week 4. He also suffered a concussion against the Packers in week 16 and has been out since.
Teddy Bridgewater originally started for the Dolphins in place of Tagovailoa, but he hurt his finger. Skylar Thompson started week 18 for the Dolphins, which they won against the New York Jets to qualify for the playoffs. He passed for 152 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in that game. He is expected to start against the Bills.
There are no reports on whether Tagovailoa would be able to play if the Dolphins advance in the AFC Playoffs.
