The Philadelphia Eagles will be playing against the Indianapolis Colts this coming Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Philadelphia will be looking to bounce back after losing their first game of the season to the Washington Commanders last weekend. The Eagles are seven-point favorites as of this writing. This article will give a full preview of the Philadelphia Eagles Week 11 game against the Colts.
The Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have been struggling for most of the season. They just fired their head coach Frank Reich and replaced him with first-time head coach Jeff Saturday. This has seemed to work for them so far as the Colts snapped a three-game losing streak under Saturday this past weekend. His first move as head coach was to start Matt Ryan over Sam Ehlinger, who had been named starting quarterback prior to Jeff Saturday becoming the head coach. Matt Ryan has gotten older, but he is still accurate and a good decision-maker. The Eagles will need to keep up their good pass-rushing ability to keep Ryan in check.Â
The Colts also have star running back Jonathan Taylor who won the rushing title last year. He has gotten off to a slow start this season because of injury. However, it looks like Taylor is healthy now. He gained 142 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders last Sunday. This will be a tough matchup for the Eagles after struggling against the rush against Washington.Â
The Philadelphia Eagles
Even though the winning streak is over, Philadelphia is still the front-runner to win the NFC East this year. Losing on Sunday could be viewed as good thing, because they will not have the pressure of keeping a perfect season intact every week. The Eagles need to clean up a couple of things before the Colts on Sunday. The most important being turnovers. They had four turnovers against the Washington Commanders last weekend. This is without a doubt the problem that lost the Eagles the game this past Monday. However, Penalties were also a huge issue as well. They had 75 yards in penalties against the Commanders. Both issues will need to be solved if the Eagles want to come out of Indianapolis with a win this coming Sunday.Â
Keys to Victory
The first key to victory is somehow stopping Johnathan Taylor. The rushing defense struggled against the Commanders last Monday. They will need to solve it quickly as Taylor can burn any defense in the NFL. The second key to victory is making Matt Ryan uncomfortable in the pocket. The Eagles pass rushing defense has been superb as they have been getting multiple sacks a game. The last key of the game is to cover the Colts’ top receiver Michael Pittman Jr. He has 603 yards and one touchdown on the season.  If the Eagles can succeed in these three areas, then they will have a good chance to win on Sunday.Â
This concludes this Philadelphia Eagles Week 11 game preview.
