The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a bye week, which means they should be well rested coming into their Week 8 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Eagles are coming into this game as huge favorites. Philadelphia is an eleven-point favorite. This article will preview the Philadelphia Eagles Week 8 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Opponent
The Steelers are coming into this game having lost six out of their last seven.  Their most recent game was against the Miami Dolphins. They played the Dolphins rather close, but they lost because of turnovers. Kenny Pickett threw four interceptions in this game, which has been his struggle as of late. He has seven interceptions total on the season. He has also thrown for two touchdowns. However, he should improve as he gets more reps throughout the season. Second-year running back Najee Harris has given this team a spark in their rushing attack. He has 329 yards and one touchdown throughout the season. He is someone that needs to continue to have success if the Steelers want to win more games.Â
With that being said, the Steelers are not a team to take lightly. They have proved they can win against big opponents. They just beat Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in Week 6. Furthermore, the Eagles are coming off a bye, which could make them a little rusty. Don’t be surprised this is a close game.
The Eagles
Philadelphia is obviously in a different position. They are undefeated and one of the best teams in the NFL. They have a potent passing attack this season and a running game that we knew was going to be great coming into the season. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith is one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL. They will need to continue to have good games if the Eagles want to be successful. Furthermore, Miles Sanders has been great running the ball this season. He has 485 rushing yards which is good for 8th in the NFL. Furthermore, he also has four touchdowns on the season.
However, the defense will be key to winning this game against the Steelers. The Eagles have one of the best secondaries in the NFL with the combination of Darius Slay and James Bradberry. They have both been great at forcing turnovers this season. The good news for the Eagles, the Steelers have struggled mightily with turnovers as mentioned before. Philadelphia will also need to rattle Kenny Pickett and make him uncomfortable in the pocket. Hassan Reddick leads the Eagles in sacks with 4.5
Who will come out on top
The Eagles should win this game; however, the game will be closer than some think. Kenny Pickett has shown glimpses of greatness and Najee Harris has been a beast for the Steelers this year. Furthermore, Pickett has weapons at receiver with Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool. It is predicted that the Eagles will not cover but they will win this game by a touchdown. This concludes this Philadelphia Eagles Week 8 game preview for their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.Â
