The New York Yankees are finalizing a trade to bring in relief pitcher Scott Effross from the Chicago Cubs according to Jack Curry of the YES Network.

Effross, 28, is a right-hander who is in the middle of his second season at the MLB level. He has a 2.66 ERA this season for the Cubs. In 47 appearances he has 50 strikeouts.
The Yankees are loading up for a run at the World Series by adding another reliever. Their bullpen ERA is 2.99, which ranks third in the league. Effross will strengthen their bullpen down the stretch.
Chicago will receive right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski in return. He has a 3.51 ERA at the Triple-A level.
