The NFL has officially announced that the moving of the games is due to COVID-19 outbreaks among a few teams. They also acknowledged that a highly transmissible form of the virus is causing this extremely high number of cases.
Washington was forced to sign a quarterback on Friday that they would have had to use during their game on Sunday. The Browns also signed an emergency quarterback that would have necessitated another player losing their spot on the active roster to allowed to take snaps in the game.
Much has been made about whether or not these postponements are fair for the other teams in the games that have not been moved, or for the opposing team of the COVID-stricken squad. In any case, these outbreaks have seemed sufficient enough to necessitate two Monday night games and some Tuesday night football.
