In Week 1 of the NFL season, the Jets’ left tackle, Mekhi Becton, was carted off the field with an apparent leg injury. Reports have surfaced that the injury was a dislocated knee cap that was popped back into place. There is no timetable for his return as of today.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.

Becton was a first round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, being taken 11th overall out of Louisville. At 6-foot-7 and 364 pounds, Becton is easily one of the biggest lineman in the entire NFL. The Jets selected him to take care of their then-quarterback Sam Darnold, although now he is blocking for Zach Wilson.
The Jets have had injury woes all over the field during the preseason and now Week 1. Lamarcus Joyner was also injured, along with Carl Lawson and Ashtyn Davis and many, many others. New York will still have to field a team against the New England Patriots in Week 2.
