Trent, 22, was traded to the Raptors midway through the 2020-2021 season. For the year, he averaged 15.3 points per game and shot 38.5 percent from deep. Before playing for the Raptors, Trent spent the previous two and a half seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers.
After losing Kyle Lowry in the early parts of free agency, the re-signing of Trent Jr. gives the Raptors a young wing to develop next to point guard Fred Vanvleet.
