The 2021 Spring Split has ended with Cloud9 as the champions and the team that will be going to MSI in Iceland. Now for many fans, it is time to start looking ahead. It is time, to start thinking about the 2021 LCS Summer Split and its start date. Here is the latest on team schedules as well as when the split will actually start.
Checkout each Team’s Schedule & the LEC’s Start Date Below:
The LCS had changed its format for the 2021 season. They had the Lock In tournament and then a six-week season that still featured 18 games. This was due to the fact that each team played three games a week. Now things will be a bit different during the Summer Split.
They will be going back to the normal nine-week schedule as many people are accustomed to. The difference this time will be that they will be keeping the three games a week part from the Spring Split. This means that teams will in fact play 27 games during the Summer Split, nine more than in seasons past.
Some fans and analysts have claimed that this is a bad thing as it will hurt the viewership and give teams less time to prepare. Others have stated that it will give viewers more to watch while also giving the teams more practice and chances to improve leading up to the playoffs. It will be interesting to see if either side is right as things move forward.
As for the start date to the LCS Summer Split in 2021, the first games are expected to start on Friday, June 4 with a likely start time of 6pm est/3pm pst.
