Though no deals have been made, the Jets have reportedly opened up the trade discussion for their star runningback. Bell signed with New York in the offseason on a four-year $52.5 million deal, which is why this report is so shocking.
According to Manish Mehta of NY Daily News, “The Daily News has learned that Gang Green is amenable to dealing the perennial Pro Bowl running back for the right price before the 4 p.m. trade deadline.”
Mehta insisted no price tag had been named yet, but the Jets are listening.
3 Potential Landing Spots for Le’Veon Bell
At 27 years old, Bell is still a capable running back in his prime. He’s great with the ball in his hands, and if put into the right scheme he could flourish.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are widely known as a contender, and adding Bell to their arsenal would make them even scarier. They have talent at running back to trade in a package for Bell, including LeSean McCoy and Damien Wiliams. With Bell in the backfield, the Chiefs would become more versatile on offense.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have struggled through the 2019 season because of their lack of explosion on both sides of the ball. Adding Bell could give them more of a spark on offense and take some pressure off of the aging Matt Ryan. Bell is also great in the pass game, so he could still be used there if they decide to stay pass-heavy.
Chicago Bears
The Bears have been somewhat disappointing this season, and Bell could relieve some stress from quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Chicago hasn’t had much of a running game since the days of Matt Forte. Bell would fit nicely into their system of zone runs, as well as their short passing attack.
