The Florida Mayhem and the Washington Justice face off this week in an exciting bottom of the table clash. Both teams have recently acquired new players to zhuzh up their play, and so, this series will showcase two struggling teams and their differing approaches to rebuilding an unsuccessful roster. In Florida’s second match this week they face the red hot London Spitfire team, in a meta that is shaping up to suit them very nicely.

Florida Mayhem vs Washington Justice
These two teams will be coming into this week having different mindsets. For the Justice, they recently scored their first win in months last week. Meanwhile for the Mayhem, their slaughter at the hands of the Titans last week was not pretty. However, the skill levels of these two teams seem to be quite similar.
On the Florida Mayhem…
The Florida Mayhem surprised their fans last week by fielding Yoon “Swon” Seong-won over the two recently added main tank players. It seems Florida really value Swon’s Orisa play, however, on maps where they needed to switch off of Orisa they had to substitute Swon out of the lineup. Switching between main tanks in a series is something that has rarely been seen before. This is because a team is often built around that one tank that leads a composition. This will hurt Florida if they cannot figure out a solution.
On a brighter note, Ha “Sayaplayer” Jeong-woo is a certified Widowmaker god! Against the best team in the league, Sayaplayer managed to consistently shine on hitscan heroes and carry his team forward. One of the newer additions to this roster, Lee “Gargoyle” Beom-jun, was another one of Florida’s few bright spots last week. Gargoyle ended each map with the highest eliminations of any player on his team.
On the Washington Justice…
The Washington Justice scored their first win in months last week, and they looked generally good across the board. The flexibility of players such as Cheon “Ado” Ki-hyeon and Ethan “Stratus Yankel are a great boon to this roster with the introduction of the 2-2-2 role lock. Also, Corey “Corey” Nigra may just, in fact, be the best Western Widowmaker player in the league. There is a lot to be excited about for the Justice, especially with a great new tank line being put together and a relatively easy schedule for the rest of this stage. 
However the liability that is Song “Janus” Jun-hwa will still be one additional burden this team will need to hurdle, that is unless Janus can reverse his poor form. Janus is an unnecessarily aggressive and flashy main tank player and relies on his team to cover for him in moments where he over commits. It should also be mentioned that Janus has never played with a western tank partner. This new partner in Elliot “Ellivote” Vaneryd will need to have built some synergy with Janus very quickly. This is because he needs to understand where and when he will need to spot his aggressive main tank as he charges forward.
Match Prediction:
Washington Justice 3 – 2 Florida Mayhem
Florida has the raw skill to skirmish with the Justice in a DPS meta. However, the Justice seems to have managed to keep a very optimistic and confident air around their team where Florida seems to be down and out. Expect big plays from Corey and Sayaplayer, and keep an eye on the main tanks for both teams. Because that is where this match will be won.
Florida Mayhem vs London Spitfire
After seeing London playing in this new meta, this match is seemingly beyond the Mayhem. Spitfire will be coming into this match with supreme confidence, knowing this should be an easy win for a team as talented as they are.
On the London Spitfire…
The London Spitfire would have been rejoicing in the fact that a DPS meta was upon them. And in the first week of said meta, they looked like the same Spitfire team that rocked the league last year. The DPS rotation for this team is sublime, Kim “Birdring” Ji-hyuk, Park “Profit” Joon-yeong and Lee “Guard” Hee-dong are all among the best in the league at their few best heroes. 
Despite London’s burgeoning meteoric ascent, they are still a scrappy team. In the earlier metas this year London was unable to match it with the best teams. This team relies on their raw mechanic skill to bale them out of unnecessarily close matches. Hong “Gesture” Jae-hee is a great leader and a top tier Winston/Orisa player, but cannot play a compelling Wrecking Ball or Reinhardt. And because of this London are somewhat predictable. Although there are still issues plaguing this team, the skill gap between London and Florida should be substantial enough to safely predict a Spitfire win here.
Match Prediction:
London Spitfire 3 – 0 Florida Mayhem
This will be a scrappy and exciting game. Florida has the talent on their roster to take a map here, but barring a London Spitfire meltdown in-game, the Mayhem would be lucky to take anything more than a map from this series.
